Window glass repair and storm window glass

What this service covers

A single pane window has one layer of glass in its frame. When that glass cracks or breaks, the repair is to take out the broken glass and put in a new piece cut to fit. The frame stays.

A storm window is an extra window that sits over the main window, on the outside or the inside, to add another layer. Storm windows have their own glass, and that glass can break too. We replace the glass in a storm window. We do not offer the frame and the glass together on this service. It is glass only.

• We do not offer storm windows as a frame and glass package.

That limit matters when you are deciding who to call. If your frame is rotted or bent, new glass alone will not fix the opening, and the frame is not something we replace. What to have ready when you call

• How many panes are broken, and in how many windows.
• The measurements of the glass, or a photo of the whole window with the break in view. If you can, measure the glass opening from edge to edge.
• Whether it is a single pane window or a storm window.
• A short description of the frame. Tell us if it is wood, metal or vinyl, and whether it looks sound, because we will not be repairing it.
• Whether the old glass is still in the frame. If it is, keep people and pets away from it until it is dealt with.
