Beveled mirrors and polished edges

Beveled and polished mirror edges, made to the size of your mirror.

North Hill Glass and Mirror makes mirrors with beveled edges and with polished edges. Our shop is at 560 N. Main St in Akron, and the phone number is (330) 535-1558. Tell us the size of the mirror, where it is going and which edge you like, and send a photo if you have one.

What the two edges are

The edge of a mirror is where the glass ends. A raw cut edge is sharp and rough, so it is finished before the mirror is used.

A polished edge is ground smooth and shiny, with a flat face along the thickness of the glass. It is a clean, plain finish. It suits a mirror that sits inside a frame or against a wall where you want a simple look.

A beveled edge is cut at a slant around the face of the mirror, so the outer border of the glass is thinner than the center. Light catches the slanted band and gives a frame-like line around the mirror. People often choose a bevel for a mirror that hangs on a wall without a frame, or for a mirror set into furniture.

Both finishes can go on mirrors of different shapes. Whether a given shape works with a bevel is something we can tell you when you describe it.

What we offer

We make beveled mirrors and mirrors with polished edges. We use them on bathroom mirrors, wall mirrors and furniture mirrors.

If you are looking for a particular size or shape, our custom cut mirrors page covers measuring and shapes. For vanity walls, see bathroom and vanity mirrors. The overview of our mirror services puts them all together.

What to have ready when you call

  • The width and height of the mirror, and the shape.
  • Which edge you want. If you are not sure, a photo of an edge you like helps us see what you mean.
  • Where the mirror goes: a wall, a piece of furniture, a door or a frame.
  • Whether you are matching an existing mirror. In that case, bring a photo of it, with the edge in close view.
  • How many mirrors you need.

If you want a certain bevel width, tell us. Photos from home or from a showroom are fine, and a sketch is enough.
