What a full wall mirror is

A full wall mirror covers most or all of a wall, often from near the floor up toward the ceiling. People use them in workout rooms and gyms to watch their form, in dance and exercise spaces, and in rooms at home where a large mirror makes the space feel bigger.

Because the mirror is large, the planning matters more than it does for a small one. A wide wall is often covered with more than one mirror set side by side, and where those pieces meet is part of the plan. Doors, vents, outlets and switches on the wall also change the layout.

What we offer

We supply full wall mirrors for gyms, workout rooms and home spaces. That includes a large mirror for a room in a house as well as one for a workout room or gym.

If you want a mirror with a special edge, our beveled mirrors and polished edges page has the details. For one large piece in an odd shape or a mirror that hangs in a frame, see custom cut mirrors.

A gym or workout room can have needs of its own, so tell us about the room when you call.

What to have ready when you call

  • The width and height of the wall, measured at the top, the middle and the bottom.
  • How high off the floor the mirror should start.
  • Everything on the wall: outlets, switches, vents, doors, trim, baseboard, rails or windows.
  • Whether you want a single mirror or several side by side.
  • The room itself. Tell us whether it is a home workout room, a studio or a gym space.
  • A photo of the wall, taken straight on, and one from the doorway to show the room.
  • How you want the edges finished.

A sketch with measurements, even on a sheet of paper, is useful here. Mark where the doors and outlets are.

Planning a large mirror

A wall of mirror is heavy, and the wall behind it should be flat and sound. Say so if the wall has been patched, painted or tiled, or if it is anything other than plain drywall. A mirror this size also has to get from the truck to the wall, so tell us about stairs, narrow halls and tight corners on the way.

Think about the finished look as well. Seams between mirrors show as lines, and a wall with a door in the middle of it can be broken into sections around the door. Looking at the wall and deciding where you want the lines to fall makes the quote easier to prepare.
