What a glass partition is

A glass partition is a wall made mostly of glass that divides one area from another inside a building. It might close off a private office, a conference room or a reception area. Because the wall is clear, light moves through the space and people can see across it.

A glass wall can be a solid run of glass or glass in a frame, with or without a door. The plan decides how it looks. Where it goes, how tall it is, where the door falls and what is behind it all change the design, so a sketch of the floor is worth having.

What we offer

We do glass partitions and interior glass walls for offices. If your project has special requirements, mention them when you call so we can discuss what is possible.

Partitions often go in alongside other glass work. If the office also needs a new front, see commercial storefront glass. If you are planning a new building, see new construction storefronts. Doors in a glass wall may call for the hardware covered on the page about commercial entrance doors. Stairs and balconies are covered on the page for glass railings.

We do residential and commercial work. The focus here is offices.

What to have ready when you call

  • Where the partition goes: the floor, the room and the walls it meets.
  • A sketch or plan of the space with measurements, even a rough one.
  • How long and how tall the wall should be.
  • Whether you want a door in the wall, and what kind.
  • How much privacy you want. Clear glass and glass with a frosted or patterned surface do different things.
  • A photo of the space where the wall goes, taken from a couple of angles.
  • Whether the work is in an existing office or part of a project still being built.
  • Who we should talk to, with a phone number.

The more clearly you can tell us what you picture, the easier it is to figure out the rest.
