Custom cut mirrors, framed mirrors and mirror replacement

North Hill Glass and Mirror makes mirrors cut to the size or shape you ask for, including framed mirrors and hanging mirrors. We also put a new mirror in a frame you already own. What custom cut means

A custom cut mirror is made to your size instead of coming in a standard size. It might be a plain rectangle that is a few inches off from anything you can buy ready made, or a shape like a circle, an oval or an arch. It could also be an irregular shape drawn on paper.

Where the mirror ends up matters as much as the shape. A mirror for a wall is different from a mirror for the front of a dresser, a closet door or the inside of a cabinet. The location affects how it is held in place and how its edges are finished.

What to have ready when you call

• The size you want, in inches if you can. For a frame, measure the opening that the mirror sits in rather than the outside of the frame.
• The shape. For anything other than a rectangle, trace it onto paper at full size, or send a clear drawing with measurements.
• Whether the mirror will hang, lean, or sit in a frame.
• A photo of the frame, if you have one, with the back of it showing how the old glass is held in.
• How many pieces you need.
• The edge you want, plain or beveled.

If the frame is old or delicate, say so. A photo of the back and a note about how the old mirror came out will tell us a lot.
