What this work covers

Cabinet door glass is the glass panel set into a cabinet door, such as the pane in a china cabinet, a kitchen cabinet or a hutch. When that glass breaks, or when you want glass where there is a wood panel now, the glass is cut to the opening in the door.

Furniture glass is the glass that goes into other pieces: the top of a console, an insert in a dresser, a panel in a bookcase door or a shelf in a curio cabinet. A display case is a case made mostly of glass, used to show objects such as collectibles, trophies, jewelry or merchandise. Ours are custom, which means built to a size and plan that suits what you want to show.

What to have ready when you call

For a cabinet door or furniture glass:

• A photo of the door or piece, front and back.
• The size of the opening the glass fits into. Measure the opening, not the door.
• How the old glass is held in, whether by strips of wood, clips or something else.
• The edge you prefer, and any pattern if the glass is not plain.

For a display case:

• The overall size you want and where it will sit.
• What will go inside it, and how big the largest item is.
• Whether you want shelves, and how many.
• Whether it should have a door, and which way it opens.
• A drawing or a photo of a case you like.
